Google announced it had created an interface to link its Google+ social network with business applications, it announced in a blog post.
Several companies had already made use of the interface (or API) with their software. Enterprise security software company Cloudlock had added Google+ to software that prevented employees from using Google+ to share sensitive information with non-employees.
Online grocery retailer Ocado had synced Active Directory teams with employee’s circles on Google+. The integration ensured that every employee had an up-to-date circle containing all other team members.
The Google+ app on Android was also updated to support multiple accounts for personal and business use. Users could switch between Google+ accounts just as they could with Gmail accounts.
The app could create restricted posts only visible to co-workers within an organisation.
