MYOB has released an update to its Mac accounting software that lets users backup their data files to cloud storage company Dropbox. The release also integrated the desktop software with iPhones and iPads so users could create new jobs, add customers, complete quotes and scope projects while out of the office.
“You can now throw away your log book and track mileage on your iPhone or iPad then sync that back to AccountEdge,” said MYOB CEO Tim Reed in a press release.
The free AccountEdge Mobile iOS application for iPads and iPhones could track mileage and sync it back to AccountEdge as well as complete quotes, orders and invoices.
Other improvements included custom transaction numbering, adding logos to invoices, and the ability to look up stock and record item-based invoices directly on the mobile app.
The AccountEdge software could backup data directly to Dropbox for secure offsite backups which eliminated the need for backup tapes.
The AccountEdge desktop software suite included invoicing, expenses, GST, inventory and payroll with three versions for sole traders and small and medium businesses.
The release included a refreshed interface, easier file maintenance, improved forms and invoices, billing and statements.
