Adds XYZ reports and customer snapshots.
Reckon, distributor of accounting software Quicken and QuickBooks, has updated QuickBooks Hosted to the latest version of its desktop software, which was updated on 3 April. The new software includes a report writer which can produce statutory reports within QuickBooks Hosted.
“Accountants with clients using the software won’t need to double-handle data, such as when they take the data from the client’s software program and put it into their own practice management software to produce statutory reports,” said a Reckon spokesperson by email.
The writer consisted of statutory report templates based on the Australian International Financial Reporting Standard. The templates could be customised for both non-reporting entities and reporting entities which apply all the associated Australian accounting standards.
Another new feature was the ability to take snapshots of customer activity. The snapshot created a graphical view of a customer’s purchasing history, average payment period and outstanding money owed.
“XYZ reports now come as a standard within QuickBooks Hosted. Accountants can now easily prepare a host of reports for reporting entities from within the same program used by their SME clients and easily send those reports to the relevant government agency,” says Gavin Dixon, Reckon Business Division CEO.
QuickBooks Hosted was a version of the desktop application which was hosted in Reckon’s data centre and accessed through Citrix software. The application had over 15,000 users in Australia, Reckon said.
QuickBooks Hosted standard service for PC users costs $310 per user, per year and QuickBooks Hosted premium service costs $415 per user, per year.
