Why cloud works: a reader’s perspective.
Reader: Leonie Hunt, owner of Diva Marketing Solutions
Bookkeeper: Gillian Rossouw, Jill of all Trades
Cloud program: Xero
As a small business owner – you seem to never have enough time in the day to focus on your core business, let alone all the associated financial, administrative, legal and staff management obligations that you need to fulfil on a day by day basis.
The financial management of my business has long been a bugbear of mine.
I have had three bookkeepers in three years that have all insisted on changing over to their proprietary systems so they can more easily service my needs.
Now let me be clear – I don’t consider I run a complicated business, however each of these three bookkeepers have all departed because my business was considered complicated and my expectations too high.
As a marketer, I am the first to admit that bookkeeping is not a skill that I enjoy or comes naturally. However, as a business owner I want to know my exact financial position at any particular point of time – and I want to be able access information anytime and anywhere in a cost effective and simple way.
Enter Xero – I can’t speak highly enough of this system – at last I have accounting software that is easy to use and makes a whole lot of sense and unbelievably, I actually enjoy doing my books and keeping tabs on the financial side of my business.
The changeover to Xero, really identified the flaws and limitations of the previous system I was using, and in using “The Jill of All Trades” Gillian Rossouw, to set up Xero, I was up and running in no time.
Xero OnLine Accounting: I highly recommend it and Love it, Love it, Love it – now there is something I thought I would never say about an Accounting Package!
