Online accounting software company Saasu in the new year will increase prices of its medium and large plans by AU$5 and AU$10 respectively, drop the price of its small plan by AU$5 and ditch the extra-small plan entirely.
Saasu customers will also move up plans due to the introduction of transaction limits and a reduction in number of employees on the medium and large plans. The top listed plan is the new AU$180-a-month extra-large plan with 100,000 transactions and up to 100 employees.
Companies that exceed the 100,000 annual transaction or 100-staff limit will need to move to a new enterprise plan which is priced on application.
The price changes were the first in nearly three years and would fund additional employees, CEO Marc Lehmann said in a company blog post. “We really want to keep growing Saasu organically but to do that we need to be asking for what we are worth. We also need to scale our team,” Lehmann said. “Saasu still remains the best value online accounting system by far.”
Saasu will also change how it calculates transaction limits from monthly to annual and reduce the number of transactions. The small plan (now AU$15 a month, down from AU$20 a month) previously allowed 2,400 transactions a year (200 per month) but will now allow 1,000 a year. With the removal of the extra-small plan it will be the only plan without a payroll function for employees.
The medium plan will cost AU$40 a month (up AU$5) for 20,000 transactions annually and up to 20 staff (previously unlimited transactions and 25 staff). The large plan will cost AU$70 a month (up AU$10) for 40,000 transactions and up to 40 staff (previously unlimited transactions and staff).
The number of bank feeds for the small, medium and large plans (3, 5 and 10 respectively) will remain the same. Online and phone support will be included on all plans (previously phone support was restricted to the medium and large plans).
All customers on the extra small plan will be automatically migrated to the small plan. Customers can retain the same pricing by renewing before 1 January when the changes come into effect.
All Extra Small customer files will be automatically migrated to the small plan on 1 January 2015. This Small plan will drop in price from $20 down to $15. Its transaction limit will also change from 200 transactions per month to be 1,000 transaction per year. The tightened transaction limits will move the top 10 percent of customers on the small plan to the medium plan (an AU$15 increase).
“Saasu has never restricted the use of our Medium and Large plans for transaction volume so we have some very big business paying just $35 month” and completing millions of transactions a year, Lehmann said.
