MyCFO’s Martyn Dominy on moving from MYOB and QuickBooks.
Martyn Dominy from MyCFO, Saasu’s top partner, reveals his secrets for successfully converting MYOB and QuickBooks users to cloud accounting program Saasu in this edited recording of BoxFreeIT’s Wednesday Matinee (11 April 2012).
The 22-minute video covers how to qualify a customer, the three levels of migration, things to be aware of, where Saasu doesn’t work and the standard questions users ask before migrating.
There are three types of migration, says Dominy. Historical transactions, trial balance migration and rollover migration. The first, which moves across the full accounting history of a business, is the most costly and labour intensive migration to perform. The rollover date migration is the fastest and cheapest, though a business would have to retain their old accounting software to search for transactions and look up previous balances.
Saasu works best for companies with under 1,000 employees and with under 10,000 stock items. Dominy says the Saasu database can handle more items but internet browsers tend to time out while accessing the data. Saasu is working on a solution to address this.
The BoxFreeIT Wednesday Matinee is a half-hour show about cloud-based business software and is broadcast live 1230pm NSW time every fortnight. The next show is on 2 May.
