Receipt processing app Receipt Bank is the first out of the gate to launch a wearable app for the recently launched Apple Watch.
The watch app is an extension of the company’s new bookkeeping dashboard, Practice Platform. A manager in an accounting or bookkeeping firm can view real-time metrics on the watch for their bookkeeping team. These include an estimate of the number of hours of work to be completed, the number of outstanding items (receipts) to be checked and the number of unreconciled items across all the firms’ clients.
Users can view one level of detail on outstanding items to see how many are waiting, how many are not ready for export to the clients’ accounting program, and how many items are in processing.
Receipt Bank recently released the Practice Platform dashboard to help bookkeeping teams quantify their outstanding workload and prioritise tasks by urgency.
“Technology is constantly shaping how we do business and accounting is no exception. Wearable tech adds a new dimension – literally giving hands-on access to the key metrics of running a bookkeeping or accounting practice,” said Michael Wood, Receipt Bank’s co-founder, in a press release.
