US retailers using cloud-based point-of-sale program Vend could now charge different tax rates by outlet. The feature allowed a user to operate different stores in different tax zones under the same Vend account.
“This is an important feature for our retailers, especially those who have stores in multiple cities or counties, with different tax rates in each. It’s also a must have for retailers whose business is succeeding and growing beyond where they first started,” said Vend in a blog post.
Users created tax codes for each regional tax, grouped them together and applied them to a particular store. A tax rate could be set for each individual store for all sales, even when special pricing was managed through price books.
Vend retailers who also used cloud accounting program Xero needed to update the tax rates for different stores in the accounting software.
