Cloud accounting vendor Xero added on Monday the ability to send remittance advice and add tracking to budgets, two of its most widely requested features.
Xero users could send remittances by selecting bills and then following the batch-payment process, which then sent individual remittance advice emails to suppliers. A user could send a single supplier a remittance advice email but only by selecting the relevant bill through the batch payments workflow.
The remittance advice showed previous payments and credit notes.
The overhauled budget feature could create multiple budgets and associate them with tracking categories.
“It’s possible to create best/worst case budget scenarios and play these out against actuals throughout the year. Or, if you’re using tracking to identify, say, regional costs and sales, you could create different budgets for each region and report on these – lots of possibilities,” Xero product manager Andrew Tokeley said on the company blog.
The software release included a handful of other improvements such as the ability to export specific groups of contacts, a new default chart of accounts for US customers, and support for Rabobank and HSBC (NZ) batch payment files.
