Complete outage for an hour last week, minor connection problems today.
UPDATE: Xero’s blog was updated to say that today’s problems appeared to affect Xero’s monitoring systems. Xero said no users had reported access issues.
Some users of popular cloud accounting program Xero experienced “connectivity issues” to the vendor’s primary data centre which stopped them from accessing their files today. The problem followed an issue with the Xero’s application hosting infrastructure on the previous week which took the whole program offline.
The previous week’s outage was due to an unsuccessful failover to the back-up database after an issue arose within the main database.
Xero apologised for the inconvenience in the company blog and claimed the outage was not long enough to affect its 99.99 percent availability held since its launch in 2007.
Xero said today’s connection problems did not affect all Xero users.
“We detected minor Internet connectivity issues between 19:30-19:40 GMT, 19:50-20:00 GMT and 20:40-20:45 GMT that impacted a small number of users. We are continuing to monitor the situation,” company spokesman Alastair Grigg reported on the company blog Friday.
